Field note
When accept rates fall after 8pm
Night dips often live in tablet placement and closing cut-offs, not in mysterious app behaviour.
Many Klang Valley outlets see a clean lunch accept curve and a ragged dinner one. Partner apps will show the dip; they rarely show the tray stack covering the second tablet or the cook who walks ten metres to tap “accept” while plating.
Check the physical path first
Time how long it takes from a new order sound to a human thumb on the screen. If that path crosses a hot pass or a storage cart, move the screen before you rewrite staffing. In one Petaling Jaya review, a shelf cleared twenty seconds off late-evening accepts without adding a person.
Closing cut-offs vs. menu pride
Kitchens hate turning away a signature set near closing. Riders and customers dislike waiting for a dish that needs a cold garnish station already packed away. A hard cut-off forty minutes before close on heavy items often lifts the night accept curve more than a pep talk.
What the export will not tell you
Exports lump “busy” and “unreachable tablet” into the same late-accept bucket. Pair the sheet with one observed dinner before you hire for a problem that might be furniture.
